Sophie Lin
Sophie founded West Clay Room after years of teaching wheel and handbuilding across Amsterdam studios. She favours clear demos, patient pacing, and forms that feel good in the hand.
The studio sits on De Rijpgracht — daylight, a bank of wheels, a handbuilding table, and kilns that run on a steady weekly cycle. Classes stay small so everyone gets time at the wheel and honest feedback on trimming and glaze.
Whether you book a single evening, a summer intensive, or membership after a course, the room is set up for making: tools shared, clay weighed, and shelves labelled for drying and firing.
Studio rhythm
Workshops and courses run most weeks; open studio for members fills the quieter hours. Firing schedules are posted in the room and shared by email when your pieces are ready.
